This policy explains what personal data Two Lives Theory® collects through this website, why it is collected, and what rights you have over it. It covers twolivestheory.com only.
Two Lives Theory® is the data controller for the personal data described here, and Basim Yafai is responsible for it. If you would like our postal details, ask and we will provide them.
For any question about this policy, or to exercise any of the rights below, email basim@twolivestheory.com.
| What | When | Why | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your name and email address | When you complete the archetype test and ask for your results | To email you your result, and to follow up about mentorship where you have agreed to that | Consent |
| Your name, email address and anything you write to us | When you email us or request mentorship | To answer you and, if it goes further, to arrange mentorship | Legitimate interests — responding to someone who has contacted us |
| The name, email address and time you choose when booking a call | When you book through Calendly | To schedule and hold the call | Steps taken at your request before entering a contract |
| Pages visited, approximate location, device and browser, and how you reached the site | On every visit | To understand which content is useful and improve the site | Legitimate interests — understanding how the site is used |
| Your IP address and technical request data | Every visit, in server logs | To serve the site securely and diagnose faults | Legitimate interests — security and reliability |
We do not ask for special category data through this website. Mentorship conversations can touch on health, wellbeing and personal circumstances — but that is handled inside the mentoring relationship and its own agreement, not through this site.
This website is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
We use a small number of established providers to run the site. Each only processes data on our instructions, and none of them sell it.
| Provider | What it does |
|---|---|
| Netlify | Hosts the website and keeps server logs |
| Resend | Delivers the emails the site sends, such as your archetype results |
| Calendly | Handles call bookings |
| Google Analytics | Measures how the site is used, only with your consent |
| Google Fonts | Serves the typefaces the site is set in |
Some of these providers are based outside the UK, so your data may be transferred internationally. Where that happens, the transfer relies on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an adequacy decision.
We also work internationally, which means your enquiry may be read and answered from outside the UK and the EEA. Wherever it is accessed from, it is handled under this policy and protected by the same safeguards.
We will also disclose data where the law requires it.
This website has no customer database. When you ask for your archetype results, your name and email pass through our email provider and arrive in our inbox — they are not written to any store we run. What is kept, and for how long, is therefore the email itself and our provider’s delivery logs.
Emails and enquiries are kept for up to 24 months from your last contact with us, after which they are deleted. Analytics data is retained by Google for the period set in our Google Analytics configuration. Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes. If you ask us to delete your data sooner, we will.
Under data protection law you can ask us to:
Where we rely on consent — for the archetype results email and for analytics — you can withdraw it at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.
To exercise any of these, email basim@twolivestheory.com. We will respond within one month.
If you think we have handled your data badly, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies are covered separately in our Cookie Policy.
If this policy changes, the revised version will appear on this page with a new date at the top.
